Christopher Addison

Overview

Chris joined the Business and Property Group at Nine Chambers in May 2022 having completed pupillage in 2020. Prior to pupillage Chris was employed by a Legal 500 ranked firm of solicitors initially in private client work before transitioning into commercial litigation specialising in property disputes.

Through this experience Chris understands fully the pressure solicitors are under and aims to alleviate that rather than add to it. He is prompt in his turnaround of papers and is recognised as being extremely client focused and friendly.

Chris prides himself on taking a grounded approach to matters and is able to break issues down into simple terms for the lay client.

Christopher’s clerks will provide no obligation quotations for all legal services that he provides. It is most common for Christopher to undertake Court and Tribunal work for a brief fee plus refresher days, although fixed fees are available. For paperwork, Christopher most commonly charges at an hourly rate, although fixed fees are available. Christopher will typically return paperwork within 10-14 days, however professional commitments, complexity and volume of documentation can affect these approximate timescales.

Christopher also undertakes Direct Access work. This work is undertaken on a contractual basis agreed between the client and Christopher’s clerks. This is on fixed fee basis for a specific events such as a conference, advisory work, a hearing with additional hearing days (refreshers) or the drafting of specific documents. All work agreed to be undertaken by Christopher with the fixed fee cost will be clearly outlined in the direct access contract signed by the client and will be payable in full prior to the commencement of the work.
