Life at the Bar Careers talk at the Crossley Heath School
1st March 2022

Emily Landale was pleased to be invited to speak to students from Years 11, 12 and 13 at the Crossley Heath School in Halifax about careers in the law and life at the Bar. The talk took place on the 18th February 2022 as part of the school’s new programme of careers talks aimed at providing opportunities for the students who have missed out on many opportunities due to Covid-19.

Emily gave a talk about different routes into and careers in the law as well as explaining her own route and role as a barrister. She spoke about the importance of maintaining hobbies and interests, both from a wellbeing perspective but also to ensure that they are well-rounded candidates for applications in the future. The talk was followed by a Q & A session.

A mock trial competition with the school is being planned and will take place later in the year.

With thanks to Vicky Pennington for the invitation.
