Keira Shaw secures unanimous acquittal for her client charged with assaulting a police officer

Keira Shaw, instructed by Tim Drugan of FMB Solicitors, represented AR who was charged with one allegation of assault by beating of an emergency worker.

Following a three day trial at Burnley Crown Court, Keira and Tim’s client was unanimously acquitted by the jury.

The whole incident was captured on police body worn video footage however AR had maintained in his police interview that he was acting in self-defence of both himself and his mother, who was also present when the allegation occurred and when the police attended at AR’s property. Having seen and heard all of the evidence, the jury returned a unanimous ‘not guilty’.
