Nine Chambers is looking forward to partnering with the Kennedys Counter Fraud Team to deliver a full mock trial training session for insurer client Ecclesiastical Insurance.
This interactive exercise will centre on a genuine cycling incident involving a pothole, where the claimant is alleged to have exaggerated the extent and impact of his injuries. The session will illustrate how social media evidence and targeted Part 35 questions can be used to test credibility and strengthen a defence.
Attendees can expect:
- A realistic, start-to-finish demonstration of a trial, from opening submissions through to cross-examination and judgment.
- Insight into how early procedural steps in litigation shape trial strategy and case presentation.
- Focused discussion on credibility challenges, judicial approaches to evidence, and effective collaboration between insurers, solicitors and counsel when addressing potentially fraudulent claims.
The session will be delivered by Nine Chambers barristers David Campion (sitting as Judge), Emily Bonass (acting for the Claimant) and Jamie Hill (acting for the Defendant).
