Katie Walden of Nine Chambers successfully prosecuted a defendant in two separate criminal trials, securing a combined sentence of 11 years and 3 months.
The defendant was convicted of attempted robbery, threatening with a blade, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, dangerous driving, and disqualified driving in the first trial, with a further conviction for violent disorder in the second. The central issue across both cases was identification, with GPS and mobile phone evidence proving crucial to the Crown’s case.
In addition to the custodial sentence, the defendant received an extended licence period of 3 years and a driving disqualification lasting 9 years and 8 months.
These outcomes reflect Katie’s effective handling of complex evidential issues and reinforce the Criminal Team’s reputation for robust, high-level advocacy.
