Nine Chambers looks forward to hosting its Meet & Mingle: Spinal Injury event, welcoming practitioners and medical experts for an in-depth exploration of spinal cord injury, spinal fractures, cauda equina syndrome, and the legal issues that arise in serious injury litigation.

The event will open with remarks from Ian Little, Barrister at Nine Chambers. Ian acts exclusively for Claimants in personal injury and associated inquests and is widely recognised for his expertise in catastrophic and life-changing injury cases including spinal, brain, psychiatric, orthopaedic and amputation claims. He is regularly instructed in high-value litigation and is consistently ranked in the leading legal directories.

We are pleased to be joined by:

  • Jonathan Fogerty, Senior Associate Solicitor at CFG Law, who will deliver an insightful session on spinal cord injury, drawing on both his professional experience and his own lived experience of SCI to highlight the long-term challenges faced by individuals with spinal injuries.

  • Mr Jaykar P., Consultant Spine Surgeon at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, who will provide a clinical overview of spinal fractures and cauda equina syndrome, including assessment, red flags, surgical considerations, and key medico-legal issues.

The event will conclude with a session from Joseph Mulderig, Barrister at Nine Chambers, examining the legal complexities surrounding serious spinal injury claims, with particular focus on rehabilitation, interim funding, evidential requirements, and long-term care needs.

This promises to be an engaging and highly informative event for all practitioners working in catastrophic injury and medico-legal practice.
