James Fryer-Spedding Appears in Confirmation of Bishop of Carlisle at York Minster

On 3 September 2025, Nine Chambers was pleased to announce that James Fryer-Spedding appeared on behalf of the Bishop Elect of Carlisle, The Right Reverend Robert Saner-Haigh, in proceedings held at York Minster before the Archbishop of York’s commissary, the Right Worshipful Morag Ellis KC.

At the conclusion of those proceedings, the Bishop Elect was duly confirmed as the new Bishop of Carlisle.

This was a significant and historic occasion, and James was honoured to play a role in the formal confirmation process. Reflecting on the event, he commented:
