Nine Chambers invites applications to join its Personal Injury Team
30th July 2026

Nine Chambers is seeking applications from ambitious barristers at all levels of call to join our leading Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Group.

Our team has been ranked Tier 1 in The Legal 500 UK Bar 2026, which describes Nine Chambers as “a stand-out chambers in Manchester for high-value personal injury work”, with members regarded as “leaders in their field of defendant insurance work for catastrophic claims”. Sixteen members of the team are ranked individually in The Legal 500 UK Bar 2026, and eleven are recognised in Chambers and Partners UK Bar 2026, from King’s Counsel through to up-and-coming juniors.

In June 2026, Nine Chambers was named Barristers’ Chambers of the Year at the British Claims Awards 2026, recognising the work of our barristers, clerks and support teams across the group.

Our practice spans the full breadth of the field: catastrophic spinal and brain injury, fatal accidents, employers’ and public liability, industrial disease, clinical negligence, military claims, sexual abuse litigation, road traffic claims and fast-track work. Claims involving alleged exaggeration or fraud are a core area of expertise. Members act for claimants and defendants alike, and are instructed nationwide by leading solicitors’ firms of all sizes across England and Wales.

If you were to join us, you would become a member of a supportive and collegiate team with strong clerking and administrative support. Instructing solicitors describe our clerks as “friendly, efficient clerks in a convenient and impressive location” who are “more than helpful, going above and beyond what is required.”

Chambers recently moved from 9 St John Street to modern premises in a prime Manchester city centre location at Freetrade, with a gym and IT facilities to support remote as well as on-site working. We support small local charities through our Nine Lives Community Fund and run an Access Scheme. Chambers offers a competitive contribution rate while maintaining high standards in its support for its barristers, and continues to invest in its future, with Maria Burcham recently joining as our new CEO.

We welcome applicationsĀ  wherever in the country you currently practise.
