Jaime Hamilton KC and Matthew Curtis prosecute four men for the murder of a teenager

Four men have been jailed for life for the murder of 17-year-old Josiah Norman, killed in a knife attack in Salford in April 2021.

Three of the defendants pleaded guilty and the fourth was convicted following a trial in November 2021. Jaime Hamilton KC, leading Matthew Curtis, worked closely with officers from GMP’s Major Incident Team and Visual Evidence Retrieval and Analysis Unit to present a compelling sequence of evidence from various sources including CCTV and mobile telephone cell-site analysis.

This demonstrated to the jury the participation of each defendant in a “sustained and targeted” attack.

The trial was paused at one stage to allow for the investigation into a new account provided by the defendant.
